The head is still fairly compact with and sits nicely at address. Where the p770 starts showing slight differences is in the slightly thicker top line and sole. Taylormade p770 irons pack maximum distance and forgiveness into a compact players iron shape. The matt finish of the forged 1025 carbon steel head gives it a classy look that mirrors the style of the p750 tour proto irons so that you can blend the two sets as they are very close with the 750 having a similar style and a 2mm shorter blade length.

The body is cast from 8620 carbon steel like lots of modern wedges but a fast forged 4140 steel face speed pocket and internal speed foam guarantee great ball speed sound and feel. The same technology as their 790 s put into a smaller club sole. They ve added a new p series iron the 770 and created a rival to their own 790 series. At first glance the taylormade p770 irons don t look all that different from the p75o irons.

The brushed steel is a huge plus in my opinion and gives some serious shelf appeal. The p770 irons have hollow body constructions with forged faces carbon steel bodies and speedfoam injected in between the faces and bodies. I am a huge fan of the simple back of the club as it looks so smooth. Now if my math is correct the combination of the two clubs would actually create the 775 but in the world of irons that model number was taken over a decade ago by another oem and if we re being honest 770 sounds better anyways. Its identity is only given away by the p770 badge. Everything in these golf clubs from the hollow forged body speedfoam injected club head tungsten weighting and thru slot speed pocket is made to make them go farther feel better and be more forgiving while maintaining a shape that fits the eye of the most discerning golfers.

The p770 feels a little more lively off the face than the others and spun a little less too and with the 7 iron slightly stronger at 33 it naturally produced the longest carries. The taylormade p770 irons are their forged cavity back model for better players who also want a compact blade style head. The p770 has the same black and silver finishing with mechanical lines.
